Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using The Handover API and related services ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

The Handover provides an API that enables AI agents to request human approval for actions via email, Slack, and webhook notifications. The Service includes the API, dashboard, and documentation.

3. Account and API Keys

• You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
• You are responsible for safeguarding your API keys and for all activity under your account.
• Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for unlawful purposes or to facilitate illegal activity.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems.
• Exceed your plan's rate limits through circumvention or abuse.
• Resell or redistribute access to the Service without authorization.
• Send spam, phishing, or misleading content through decision notifications.

5. Service Tiers and Billing

The Service offers free and paid tiers. Paid plans are billed monthly. We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days' notice. Unused decisions do not roll over between billing periods.

6. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Decision content, approver emails, and metadata are stored as described therein.

7. Availability and SLA

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Team and Enterprise plans include SLA guarantees as specified in your plan agreement.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Handover shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these terms. You may close your account at any time from the dashboard. Upon termination, your API keys are deactivated and pending decisions will expire.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or dashboard notification at least 14 days before taking effect.
